Course Description
In this three-course series students will learn how to design and develop professional-looking websites using the latest web design tools and techniques. The skills learned in these courses will enable students to design both small and simple sites and large and complex sites that are both attractive and effective.

To create attractive Web sites requires some guiding principles. This class series provides you with this framework and the means to put these principles into practice. We will look at the technical and aesthetic elements of design, including color theory, typography, page layouts and more, and how they apply in the creation of attractive and effective web pages.

The course series is divided into 3 courses that need to be taken in order. MMST131a is the pre-requisite for MMST131b which is in turn a pre-requisite for MMST131c.

Students who wish to skip ahead in the sequence will need to request persmision from the instructor and submit work samples.

MMST131a

In the first class in this series, students apply Web design theory by looking at examples of well designed and implemented Web sites and creating small, 4-5 page sites on any topics of their choice but with preexisting media. Students will not create any NEW content in this course but instead will use Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Dreamweaver and preexisting content to create a small working web site.
